Access Control

ClearHealth uses the extensible PHPGacl project for Access Control. This allows ClearHealth to define any security policy required by law (HIPPA) or by circumstances (Employee turnover). Access control can be defined by user type, class or role. It is possible to limit access to different functions in the system, (only users with calendar rights can schedule appointments) as well as to specific data (a particular user cannot access a particular patient).

EMR

ClearHealth has an Object Oriented base EMR, that can be extended without programing. To do this ClearHealth uses EMR Extensions. EMR Extensions are similar to HTML forms and once created, the system will automatically record the data, and correctly associate the data with a patient or a patient encounter. Using this system, ClearHealth users are not limited someone else's concept of what they need, instead they can make an EMR that works the way their practice does.

Medical Billing

Collections and Billing are the lifeblood of any medical practice. Too many practices have been forced out of business or forced to merge into a larger organization because it was to difficult to bill. In the past the only option was a proprietary system or service that costs untold thousands. Now a first class medical billing system is available under the GPL. ClearHealth uses the FreeB medical billing system. FreeB is capable of tracking versions of bills, and allows users to modify formats without programming.

Medical Accounts Receivable

In medicine the expectation is that you will not get the amount of money that you bill for. This, and the fact that multiple payers cover a single claim means that a Medical Accounts Receivable package must be different from any other AR solution. In ClearHealth accounts receivable is tightly integrated with the Medical Bill Formating system and the EMR.

Scheduling

4 practices, 15 facilties, 120 rooms, 2 X-Ray Machines and 10 medical providers. All of them need to be in the right place at the right time. ClearHealth uses a powerful set of filters to allow you to see whatever portion of the schedule you want. It supports overbooking and gives a visual indication of the availablilty of resources. ClearHealth has one of the most advanced scheduling systems possible using a web browser as a super-thin-client.
